OCEANIC SPLIT-BELT REHABILITATION TREADMILL SYSTEM is a locally manufactured medical rehabilitation device.A split-belt treadmill is an advanced clinical treadmill designed to independently control left and right leg movement for gait correction, neurological rehabilitation, asymmetry correction and biomechanical research. It has two independently controlled running belts, placed side-by-side—one for the left foot and one for the right foot—each powered and controlled independently.
Unlike a normal treadmill (single belt, single speed), a split-belt system can run:
• Left belt at one speed
• Right belt at another speed
This allows clinicians and researchers to intentionally create or correct gait asymmetry. The system can operate in:
1. Synchronized Mode – both belts same speed (normal walking)
2. Independent Mode – different speeds per side
3. Asymmetry Training Mode – fixed speed ratio (e.g., 2:1)
4. Perturbation Mode – sudden change on one side
